Default Cgs14

Hello Cinta. Thank you for your post. Unfortunately, this set was sold to someone else.

So, I am still looking for my elusive set of firemen CGS14. Please help.

I think you are going to have to be a little quicker than that my friend, after all there maybe still quite a few CG collectors who have no little men to drive their engine

The engine comes with driver and co-pilot, it's the remainder of the watch that are missing.

Default "Thank You" Is Just Not Enough

Well, as many of you who have visited this thread will know, I have been frustrated in my efforts to obtain a set of the firemen for my fire engine musical box. Various members have offered their assistance during this time, for which I am most grateful. The most recent post by Cinta gave me hope but unfortunately I did not see this early enough and by the next morning had lost this set to someone else. I do hope that whoever this was, they are a true collector and did not buy them simply to profit from their good fortune.

However, shortly following this I received an email from a member here who kindly put me in touch with a most kind, thoughtful and honourable lady who had found a set of the firemen whilst on holiday. This wonderful lady had recalled reading a post from someone wanting a set and purchased it at the original RRP with a view to offering this to a genuine collector. If that was not enough, this lady was adamant that she did not wish to profit from any sale, her only proviso being that the set went to a genuine collector. I am delighted to say that I became the owner of this set on March 18th. which just happened to be my birthday..........and what a day that made it.

Now I know that there are no competitions here for "Collector of the Year" but if there were, this lady would undoubtedly run away with the accolade and honours..............."The Harrop Award for Dedication to Collectors." And this ladies name.................she uses the site name of Sandraxan. To her, I say "Thank You." It would be remiss of me not to also thank the gentleman who provided the contact with Sandraxan. He wishes to remain anonymous, so I thank him through this Forum and wish him well in his professional duties.

Default Missing Post

I appreciate that you fine people at RHD have been exceptionally busy recently, what with Crufts and that 'unmentionable' subject, but I'm a little concerned that my post of around the 19th. March thanking two members for their personal help with a retired piece has not yet appeared. If you could help with this, I would be most grateful. Kind regards.

Sorry about that, with the transferance of the forum some postings will be lost as the data has to be saved at a certain point and uploaded a time later, but I think I can see it now. Yes, you would have experienced some (a lot!) of delay in postings appearing as I've been busy with the new site as well. Not an excuse, sorry, but hopefully things will be better from now on.

Thank you for that Dan. My follow-up message wasn't intended as a 'dig' as I know of the considerable work that has been going on behind the scenes. Proof of that was evident late the other evening when your IT Guru (Paul Williamson) kindly sorted out a gliche to enable me to place an order. What a surprise it was to receive a response to my email at around 2200 hours. Now THAT is service. Many thanks again, Dan.
