Boarding Cinema's in March 2012, Aardman co-founder Peter Lord returns to hands-on directing for the first time since 'Chicken Run', with a comedy adventure based on two books from the cult 'Pirates!' series by Gideon Defoe.

Author Gideon Defoe has also penned the screenplay, which follows the Pirate Captain and his hapless, but faithful, crew of pirates.  Throw in some  nudists, lepers, Charles Darwin, a gang of school children and  the pirate of the year award, and you'll start to get an idea of the films rapid-fire, throwaway naughtiness!

The actors lending their voices to the various characters are a real treasure, with Hugh Grant leading a cast that includes Martin Freeman, Brian Blessed, Hugh Laurie and Imelda Staunton (as a pirate-hating Queen Victoria), joined by Jeremy Piven, Salma Hayek and even David Tennant! Wow!

A sure cannon-fire hit and a true classic of the future, we are very excited to be releasing an initial six figures from this fantastic film, including the Pirate Captain himself and clear-cut baddy Black Bellamy.
